What is a Business Name?
More commonly known as a sole trader or partnership with a registered name.
Registered Business Names are registered with Fair Trading and Business Affairs Office in each state and registration is restricted to each state in which they are registered. To trade as a name other than your own personal name, you must register in the state you wish to trade in. Each state has a Business Affairs Office in its capital city.

A Registered Business Name is commonly referred to as a sole proprietorship or partnership, which means that the owner/s of the Business Name are solely responsible and liable for the activities of the Business.
